Interested in a newborn photoshoot?

putting babies in buckets is my jam

Okay, so you're here but its all so much, am I rite?! Well I have been doing this for over 10 years now and I have heard all the questions and am here to make booking your newborn photography session easy!

First, you need to figure out what type of newborn session you want. While I do love posed newborn sessions the best I do also love the new style of minimalist (lifestyle) newborn photography. My most popular newborn session booked is actually a hybrid of posed + lifestyle sessions so you get the best of both worlds!

You can book as early as you feel comfortable. Most moms book at around the 12-week mark. I send you the contract and invoice. You pay the deposit and when baby comes you shoot me an email within 24 hours of birth. That is when I get you an actual session date. I like to shoot posed newborns within the first 19 days of life so we get the squishiest, sleepiest poses.

Take a peek below at examples of the different session types. I have also included full galleries to show you exactly what you will be getting so there is full transparency

..ready to get started? Let's first figure out what type of photos you like!

I take pride in being a clean freak and I take every newborn session very seriously in terms of hygiene and safety. I know babies are super new and that I may be one of the first outings after going home from the hospital. I still wear a mask for every newborn session and sanitize everything after use.

The studio is intentionally setup so you will always be in the same room as your baby. I am stocked with everything for your postpartum needs (well except maybe sleep), I have extra pacifiers, burp cloths, diapers, wipes, bottle warmer, changing table and snacks! And worst case if you forgot anything at home there is Target no joke, across the street from my studio!

posed newborn VS  lifestyle newborn

Posed newborn photoshoots have my heart forever and always. They are such a timeless way to capture just how tiny your baby is; a way they will never be again!

I have a carefully curated props that are not only specialized for your baby (no thrift store finds here) I buy newborn props from verified newborn vendors. These sessions are fun and I make each setup unique to your baby's name, nursery or what your hopes and dreams are for your child. I absolutely love incorporating nature's textures into your newborn photoshoot and a posed sessions gives you the best way to play with fun setups.

Lifestyle sessions are a sweet way to capture the newness of your little one without any of the extras with props but I always allow you access to the newborn outfit closet. Frequently Asked Questions

  • When is the best time to book a newborn session?
The best time to book is while you are still pregnant. The squishy newborn poses you see are done best while babes are under 14 days old.
  • What if my baby is older than 14 days?
Don't let that stop you! Email me and we will work a way out to get adorable photos of your newborn!
  • What if my baby has jaundice?
No worries! If you are concerned I usually have Mom's email me a current pic of baby to show me the level of juandice and take it from there.
  • What if my baby has acne and peeling skin?
Don't let that worry your soul! That's what photoshop is for!
  • What if I can't come to your studio?
I never force anyone to come to me. If you are having a hard recovery I will come to you with all the props and outfits.
  • How long is the wait to get my photos back?
It typically takes three weeks from the day of your session to get your photos back.

you can book your newborn session as early as you know you are pregnant. I mark down your due date but when baby comes you let me know within 24 hours of birth and I get you on the schedule. These squishy poses you see are usually shot within the first 16 days of life.

I have so many props, outfits, wraps and bonnets that it is not necessary for you to bring anything but if there is something special you want incorporated then feel free to let me know!

When it comes to your session date there is no need to worry that "your baby won't cooperate"; I hear that a lot and I do have a few tricks to use but here are some things that you can do on your end to prep for a great session:

01.

Bring extra milk

Bring enough milk for 2-3 feedings. If nursing try to stay away from dairy & spicy food 48 hours before our session.

02.

Bring a Pacifier

Some poses are tricky and to help soothe baby into them I may need to use a pacifier to get that must have shot!

03.

Bring A brush

If baby has lots of hair you may want to bring a brush to retouch any hat head that may happen between bonnet poses.

04.

Bring a baby blanket

Some of the poses are without a diaper; bring an extra blanket in case we have an accident

"Tasha is the baby whisperer! She was so patient with our daughter who was fussy. I've never seen someone do there job with a smile on their face the ENTIRE time. She really loves what she does and it shows in the amazing photos I now have hanging all over our home!"
